Weekly Letter 5.11.17

Dear Families:

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at 8:14 AM, I became the proud grandmother of Diego Allanbrook Ramirez, born at Mount Sinai West.  Meanwhile,  downtown at NYU at 5:16 PM,  fourth grade teacher Nneka gave birth to Aaron Jacob Kurlandski.  (Both boys arrived a little earlier than expected.)

These two boys are one of many in our BNS family.

In January, our guidance counselor, Andrea, gave birth to a little boy  (Romeo Davidson-Malamy) while Dalisa, our other guidance counselor, is expecting in June.

Kindergarten paraprofessional, Celso’s wife also had a baby back in the winter as did pre-k paraprofessional Pauline’s daughter, and kindergarten teacher, Sarah’s daughter.

Meanwhile kindergarten teacher, Valerie, gave birth to a little boy (Aiden Jax Perez) just after spring break, while her co-teacher, Marisol, is ready to give birth any moment now.

Babies are in the air here at BNS, distracting us from the work that we do , while reminding us of the beauty of humanity and giving us even more umph to keep doing that work.

All for now,

Anna

Quote of the Week:

Upon seeing our guidance counselor, Dalisa’s belly, Ola Mae Vaughn-Swier, a pre-K child in Jacqueline’s class, exclaimed, “You still have that baby inside of you!”
