The Brooklyn New School is committed to academic and personal success for all students. We believe that children are creators of meaning. They are naturally thoughtful and curious, and they work to gain understanding of the world they inhabit. When the adults who care for children foster this effort, children become life-long learners.

Support the BNS Annual Appeal

The BNS Annual Appeal is the largest fundraiser, and it's the only one where 100% of ALL contributions go directly to the school. Additionally, your contributions are 100% tax-deductible. Last year we raised over $80,000. And this year, as a result of our school's financial crisis, we need to raise more. Your donations will directly support the school: pays for ALL supplies, furniture, substitute teachers, and more.

Information about the Annual Appeal was mailed to every family. Click here for the mailing.

Please, give today!

Join us for Project Day, October 13

Does your child's classroom need some shelving or homosote installed? Some hooks put up or taken down? Help us with bigger projects that may need special supplies or teams of parents to complete. We will be here from 9 - 4 pm, building, painting, repairing... If you have tools you can bring or woodworking skills, let us know. If you can volunteer to coordinate Project Day, email amysumner@bns146.org.

Curriculum Night, Monday, September 24

If you can come to one event this year, it should be Curriculum Night. Hear about the goals and expectations for this school year. Meet other parents in your child's class and grade. Volunteer to be a class parent. This is a parents only evening. Please do not bring children; we will not have childcare. For a detailed schedule, look here.
